Volunteering

01

Volunteer at Redeemer Health

Volunteers are an essential part of the mission of Redeemer Health. We welcome volunteers over the age of 16 to share their gifts and talents with our patients, residents, and families.

02

Summer Volunteer Program

Redeemer Health offers a summer volunteer program to students ages 16 and older. The summer volunteer program is an opportunity for students to gain exposure to the health care field while giving back to the community.

What this looks like in practice

In a child-care center, a volunteer is usually a steady, familiar presence: a grandparent who reads aloud, a student who sets out the afternoon snack, a neighbor who joins the sandbox brigade. Children learn that a wider circle of adults can be trusted and counted on. Staff remain responsible for care and supervision, and a parent should never be asked to leave a child with someone they have not met.

Children learn by watching the adults around them. When a parent volunteers, a child sees time given freely to someone else. That example settles into daily habits at home. A child becomes quicker to help, more patient with a sibling, and more aware of others. These are small shifts, but they last.
