How enrollment works

Call (215) 938-3382 or email achapman@holyredeemer.com to begin. Tell us your child's age and the days you need, and we will tell you what is possible for your family. From there, we will set up a time for you to see the room your child would join. If you have questions before then, ask them at any point.
Tour the room
Come see the classroom your child would join. You will meet the teachers who run it, watch how the room is arranged, and get a feel for the pace of a day. Bring your questions and your child, if that helps. After the visit, take time to think it over before you decide.
Enroll and settle in
Complete the enrollment forms when you are ready. Together we plan a first week that suits your child's routine, adding hours as your child grows comfortable. You can ask us how the first days will go for your child. We will tell you what to expect and what to pack for the first morning.
What to have ready
Most families bring enrollment forms, a health form and immunization record, emergency contacts, and the names of people allowed to pick up their child. Ask us for the current forms so nothing is missed. We can tell you what else your child's age group needs.
Pack a change of clothes that can stay at the center. Add outdoor gear for the season and nap items if your child rests here. A comfort object from home helps. Label everything with your child's name.
Before the first day, talk through the drop-off routine and who will pick up. Tell us how you would like to hear about the day. Ask us anything you are unsure about while you still have time.
The first weeks
The first days often run shorter than a full day. A familiar object from home can help your child settle. A teacher greets your child by name at the door. You can ask us how your own child's first week will be paced.
At pickup, teachers tell you how the day went and what your child did. They will let you know how settling in is going. Most children find their rhythm over the first few weeks.

Can we visit before deciding?
Yes. A tour is how most families decide, and children are welcome to come along.
What should my child bring on the first day?
Families usually pack a full change of clothes, including socks, in case of spills or water play. A comfort item from home, such as a small blanket or stuffed animal, helps a child rest at nap time. Label everything with your child's name, especially bottles, cups, and outer layers, so nothing gets lost.
How do you handle the first weeks?
Many children start with shorter days and build up to a full schedule as they settle. A familiar object from home, kept in their cubby, gives them something known to return to during the day. At pickup, teachers tell you how your child ate, slept, and played, and what they seemed to enjoy.
What does a typical day include?
A day is usually built around arrival, play and learning, meals and rest, and time outdoors, with pickup at the end. The shape of it shifts with your child's age. Ask us what your child's room does.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Teachers talk with you at pickup about how the day went. If you want more detail, ask, and they will tell you what they can. Tell us early how you prefer to hear from us.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have at the time. Call or email us with your child's age and the days you need, and we will tell you what is available.
What if there is no place right now?
Families can ask us to note their child's age and contact them when a place opens in that group. We cannot promise a date, but we will reach out as soon as one comes up.
What should I ask on the tour?
Ask about hours, meals, and how pickups work. Ask how the first weeks are handled when a child is settling in. Ask what a typical day looks like, from arrival through nap to the end of the afternoon, so you know how your child's time will be spent.
